Schedule: Part-time school year position; .27 FTE
7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Monday – Friday
187 workdays; Calendar determined at time of employment

Job Summary:

Essential Duties:
- Ensure that all students are supervised in a safe student-centered learning environment
that meets and exceeds the subject matter standards, following the approved curricula
and directives of the ISD.
- Plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities that contribute to meaningful
learning experiences.
- Identify, select, create and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the
students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Assist in maintaining effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.

- Maintain a current Advisory Committee involved in Law Enforcement/Corrections.
- Plan a Program of Study that follows the curriculum of the Office of Career and
Technical Education.
- Maintain program related documents and expectations as needed by the office of Career
- and Technical Education.
- Maintain regular, predictable in-person attendance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation necessary for duties.
- Follow work rules.
- Adhere to MCISD Guidelines and Policies.
- Assume other duties as assigned by the program supervisor.
Education:
- Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with appropriate Vocational Education
Teaching Endorsement to teach state approved Law, Public Safety, Corrections &
Security program (CIP Code 43.0100)
OR
- 4,000 hours of paid recent (last 10 years) and relevant work experience to qualify for
Annual Career Authorization in Law, Public Safety, Corrections & Security. (CIP Code
43.0100)

- Ability to teach and deliver Law Enforcement/Corrections Curriculum. Instruct student in
report writing, patrol, dispatch, court and jail operations, crime prevention, evidence collection
and preservation, criminal law and legal terminology.
- High School Diploma
Preferences:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Previous High School and/or adult teaching experience.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years successful Law Enforcement and/or Corrections experience.

District are fingerprinted for a Michigan and FBI criminal history
check. The processing fee of $42.00 is the responsibility of the
applicant.
