JOB SCHEDULE
Full-Time: 36 hours/week, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Weekend Package Nights
Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
This position also offers the option of working 5 out of 6 weekends or 48 out of 52 weekends.
- Working 5 out of 6 weekends earns 140% of an employee’s base wage
- Working 48 out of 52 weekends earns 150% of an employee’s base wage
- Any PTO used will be paid at the employee’s weekend package rate
A shift differential is included with this position and equates to:
- $1.50/hour from 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- $4.00/hour from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
You must work at least four hours during these timeframes to qualify.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Monroe County Hospital & Clinics Ambulance Service is a vital part of our community’s emergency response system, dedicated to delivering exceptional pre-hospital care with compassion and professionalism. Our team operates with a strong commitment to patient safety, rapid response, and clinical excellence, ensuring that every individual we serve receives the highest standard of care.
We are considered a Paramedic/Critical Care Transport service, providing 911 response as well as interfacility transports. Our call volume is approximately 1300 calls per year. We work in the Emergency Department alongside an RN and ED Provider (Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
In this role, you will provide advanced life support and critical care during both emergency and non-emergency transports while also working in our 5-bed Emergency Department, gaining valuable experience in a hospital setting. You will collaborate closely with a skilled and supportive team of healthcare professionals and serve the community with integrity, empathy, and clinical expertise.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Develops a written plan of care based on assessment data following established standards and protocols of care. Maintains and revises the plan as needed.
- Performs general nursing care to patients, administers prescribed medications, and administers treatments in accordance with nursing standards and protocols.
- Assesses patients and documents thoroughly. Notifies physician when status change dictates.
- Documents pertinent observations including safety needs and effective interventions.
- Provides patient education and discharge planning.
- Provides a concise, factual report of patient condition to the next nursing shift prior to leaving the unit.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to all OSHA and infection control policies.
- Satisfactory completion of on-the-job orientation and competency skills checklist.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ongoing compliance with MCHC educational and training requirements.
- Adheres to the MCHC mission, vision, values, and Standards of Behavior.
- Maintains patient and hospital confidentiality.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, coworkers, and providers.
- Actively participates in department huddles, in-services, meetings, and educational opportunities.
- Follows all departmental policies and procedures and adheres to departmental budget.
