JOB SCHEDULE
This position includes participation in an on-call rotation to cover night shift time off, currently averaging approximately one night per week. As we are actively recruiting for a full-time night Radiology Technologist, on-call requirements may decrease and be limited to occasional weeknight coverage.
Candidates may choose between the following schedule options:
- 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
- Five 8-hour days
- Start time will be either 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. One day per week, the candidate will have the option to work a later shift to provide department coverage until the night shift technologist arrives, or the candidate may start between 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM and then take approximately 4-5 hours of evening on-call
- 36 hours per week Monday - Friday
- Four 9-hour days
- Start time will be either 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. One day per week, the candidate will have the option to work a later shift to provide department coverage until the night shift technologist arrives, or the candidate may start between 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM and then take approximately 4-5 hours of evening on-call
- Set day off after orientation period is complete
- Hours may be flexible based on candidate's preference and departmental needs.
Scheduling details:
- Limited weekend rotation to cover weekend package employee's time off.
- Shared holiday rotation to support team coverage
JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary duties for this position include:
- Schedules patient exams and performs receptionist duties as needed.
- Performs diagnostic exams including setting correct techniques, positioning patients, and providing protective shielding.
- Performs CT examinations following correct CT protocols.
- Starts IVs in order to inject contrast agents for CT exams.
- Performs C-arm procedures in OR.
- Manages exams in PACS and burn disks.
- Observes radiation protection for patients, self, and other staff.
- Assists radiologist with special exams including prepping the patient, setting up the procedure room, using sterile techniques, and drawing up medications.
- Works as a team member to keep the Radiology department clean and tidy.
- Satisfactory completion of on-the-job orientation and competency skills checklist.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Ongoing compliance with MCHC educational and training requirements.
- Adheres to the MCHC mission, vision, values, and Standards of Behavior.
- Maintains patient and hospital confidentiality.
- Promotes and maintains positive relationships with patients, visitors, coworkers, and providers.
- Actively participates in department huddles, in-services, meetings, and educational opportunities.
- Follows all departmental policies and procedures and adheres to departmental budget.
