What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctoral Clinical Psychologist - Contract/Part-Time position at MONROE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AUTHORITY?
The Psychologist provides consultation for a wide array of psychological/behavioral support services for adults and children with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in both residential and home settings. The Psychologist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to identify and solve complex problems at the individual and systems-level.
The Psychologist must have substantial knowledge of applicable state guidelines, reimbursement systems, and extensive knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code.
Reporting directly to the Chief Clinical Officer, this position requires the exercise of substantial independent judgment in the performance of these duties.

Education, Training and Licensing Credentials:
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, and must be a fully licensed psychologist
in the State of Michigan. Must also have experience in administering/interpreting psychological
testing, psychological evaluations, behavior management, treating emotional/behavioral disorders,
crisis intervention, psychotherapy.
Five or more years’ clinical experience providing family treatment is preferred. Knowledge of and direct clinical experience in using non-traditional, community-based forms of intervention, also preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care for the specific clinical needs and ages of the individuals served. Demonstrated knowledge of the clinical needs, symptoms, and behaviors of individuals served, as well as understand the principles of growth and development over the life span; have the ability to assess data reflecting each individual’s status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each individual’s requirements in relation to his or her age-specific/population specific needs; and to provide the care needed by the appropriate age group - (child, adolescent, adult and geriatric).
