Special Education Teacher

LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450; EMCC

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month Position; Full-Time

STARTING DATE: September 2026

SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642 per school year (or higher depending on BUP negotiations)

Look no further! We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to serve as a Learning Support Specialist to support students and CTE teachers at the Eastern Monroe Career Center.

Duties

• Provide support for students with both IEPs and 504 Plans across Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
• Support CTE teachers in the planning, implementation and evaluation of instruction for students with disabilities.
• Ensure proper implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans to meet student needs.
• Serve on a multidisciplinary team to support students who are struggling and offer recommendations to improve student performance and achievement.
• Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, and districts as it relates to supporting student success.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of professional development activities to increase staff awareness and ability to support students with special needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding students with disabilities.
  
  

Qualifications

• Appropriate NYS Special Education Teacher Certification required.
• At least five years of successful teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working within a high school setting preferred.
• Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
• Knowledge and experience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) preferred.
• Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred.
• Physically able to perform all essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
