TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Per Diem Sub; Spring Session- February through May, Fall Session- September through November, Contingent on Grant Funding.
STARTING DATE: Spring Session- February through May and Fall Session- September through November
SALARY RANGE: Flat rate of $55 per hour
Duties
- Provide educational program that promotes independent living skills and socialization skills for individuals with disabilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best practices.
- Collaborate with other professionals in the program to purchase supplies and materials in accordance with Monroe #1 BOCES policy and within the Grant Budget
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders
- Manage and support classroom team.
- NYS Special Education Teacher Certification
- Experience with students with developmental and emotional disabilities.
- Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies, TCI, SCIP-R or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
- Knowledge and experience implementing NYS standards, Core Curriculum and NYS Alternative Assessment.
- Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred.
- Experience working with students who exhibit intense behavioral/emotional disabilities preferred.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
