Duties
- Provide classroom and hands-on instruction in computer repair, network cabling, and Cisco networking.
- Maintain curriculum aligned with industry expectations, New York State standards, and applicable certification exams.
- Supervise the computer and networking laboratory and student-operated computer repair business simulation.
- Adapt instruction to meet student needs, assess learning, and maintain student progress records.
- Develop industry partnerships and arrange career exploration and work experience opportunities.
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student success and participate in professional learning.
- New York State CTE Teacher Certification in Computer Technology, grades 712, or willingness and eligibility to obtain certification. (See attachment for information)
- Minimum of four years of paid industry experience in computer repair, IT support, computer networking, or a closely related field; OR an associate's degree or higher in a related field, plus two years of related paid industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, network installation and troubleshooting, and Cisco routing and switching.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to beginning learners.
- Commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development and working with students and families to promote success.
- Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Master's degree in the subject area or a related discipline.
- Current Cisco CCNA and/or relevant Cisco CCST certification; CompTIA A and/or Network certification.
- Experience with Cisco Networking Academy curriculum and instructional tools.
- Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or supervising students or entry-level technology professionals.
Salary : $49,470 - $79,820
