Shop Helper - Monroe, WI

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Helper to join our team at the Monroe Branch in Monroe, WI. In this hands-on role, you will assist with a variety of shop operations including material handling, stocking, delivery support, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows directions well, and collaborates effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Stocking

• Pull materials and equipment for shop orders and field crew needs.
• Restock shelves, bins, and inventory in a timely and organized manner.
• Assist in the unloading and organization of incoming materials.

Delivery Support

• Assist in preparing items for delivery to job sites.
• Load and unload materials from company delivery vehicles.
  

Shop Support

• Perform basic general labor tasks as requested.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  

Housekeeping & Safety

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the shop.
• Dispose of waste and scrap materials appropriately.
• Follow all company safety protocols and guidelines
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction environment preferred.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools and basic familiarity with construction materials.
• Ability to read and understand work orders or material pull sheets.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
  

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform physical labor
• Climb in and out of truck and bed of truck
• Work in dusty, noisy, or varying temperatures surroundings
• Work and drive in various weather conditions
• Stoop, bend, climb, and crouch
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
• Lift up to 70 pounds
  

Other Requirements

• Must be able to work the hours of 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; ability to be flexible to come in early or stay later as needed
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Must practice safe work habits; strong safety record
• Living within approximately 30 minutes of the Monroe, WI branch is preferred, to support punctuality and availability for shop and delivery needs
  

Compensation Range

$18-$20, dependent on relevant experience
