This role requires the ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions. The Tree Pusher (Smokehouse Operator) is responsible for utilizing tools effectively while working within safety guidelines. The individual must also maintain a positive attitude and function well in a team environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Push trees to the scale, document weights, input data into tablets, scan tickets, and scan locations.
- Load and unload smokehouse ovens while following established safety guidelines.
- Locate trees in production coolers or freezers as required.
- Adhere to all Monogram Foods policies and procedures, including those outlined in the Monogram Employee Handbook.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education And Experience
- Ability to operate scanners and tablets.
- Capable of physically pushing and pulling trees with meat products.
Competencies And Skills
- Ability to read and follow simple instructions or work orders.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude and collaborate effectively with a team.
Physical Demands
- Must frequently push, lift, and/or move loaded trees.
- Standing, walking, reaching, gripping, and repetitive hand use are required.
- Regular exposure to loud machinery; proper protective gear is mandatory
Work Environment And Personal Protective Equipment
- Exposure to cold conditions (30°F- 40°F).
- Loud noise levels from machinery.
- Required use of PPE and slip-resistant footwear.
- Work near moving mechanical parts.
