Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Coding Specialist to join our office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Coding Specialist will play a crucial role in the management of medical records and billing processes.
Responsibilities
· Strong knowledge in ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT and CDT codes
· Comply with medical coding guidelines and policies
· Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure accurate documentation as it relates to coding
· Able to provide documentation to providers on missed coding opportunities pertaining to the revenue cycle process
· Ensuring the Diagnosis and CPT/CDT codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations
· Update team on billing issues, denial trends or other important information related to revenue cycle processes
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal to interact with the clinical team and management
· Team player
· Ability to make decisions based on independent thinking and business objectives
· Able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
· Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
· Attention to details and accuracy in coding and billing processes
Qualifications
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
