Role Description
As a Bilingual SLP-A you will:
- Perform weekly therapy sessions for a culturally and linguistically diverse caseload.
- Implement documented care plans developed and directed by the supervising SLP.
- Provide direct therapy services addressing treatment goals developed by the supervising SLP to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Assist with communications regarding patient care and scheduling as needed in person, by telephone, or via email.
- Provide Parent Education and Home Programming following each therapy session.
- Complete accurate documentation of evaluations and therapy sessions in a timely manner.
- Maintain company productivity standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to include Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Administrative Staff.
- Attend Weekly Round Table Meetings and any additional meetings determined by your Clinical Director, Supervisor, or Company Owner.
- Pursue relevant Continuing Education to best serve our patient population.
- Assume other projects and responsibilities as assigned by your Supervisor.
- Abide by all company Policies & Procedures.
- Adhere to the responsibilities for SLPAs specified in ASHA’s scope of practice document and in state requirements.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Speech and Speech Therapy techniques
- Ability to assist with communication and manage communication disorders effectively
- Expertise in supporting Articulation development in children
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with strong bilingual communication skills
- Current licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in the state of Texas
- Experience with pediatric therapy and ability to build rapport with children and families
- Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach to working with diverse needs
