What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Waitstaff position at MONKEY KING PLAY HOUSE?
We are looking for a reliable, upbeat, and hands-on team member to join our play café team. This is an active, fast-paced role where everyone works together to keep the space clean, welcoming, and running smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working with families, and staying busy throughout their shift.
What You’ll Do
Team members are cross-trained and expected to help wherever needed, including:
Greet guests and provide excellent customer service
Sell admissions, memberships, and café items
Operate the POS system and handle cash/credit transactions
Prepare and cook simple café food and drinks
Clean and sanitize tables, café areas, and the play structure throughout the day
Monitor the play area to ensure safety and cleanliness
Restock supplies and assist with opening/closing duties
Support special events, parties, and busy weekends
This is a multi-tasking role — there is no “standing around” position here.
Must be comfortable working alone and completing tasks assigned.
Requirements
Active Oregon Food Handler Card (required before first shift)
Active OLCC Alcohol Server Permit (required before first shift)
Dependable and punctual
Comfortable talking with parents and children
Willing to learn all areas of the business
Able to take direction and work independently when needed
Comfortable being on your feet and staying active
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Schedule & Availability
Must be available for weekends and some weekdays
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, or evenings
Hours vary based on business needs
