Are you a passionate Fitness Trainer looking for a flexible side role that fits around your current commitments?
We’re seeking a knowledgeable, energetic, and compassionate Fitness Trainer to lead engaging group exercise sessions for our Diabetes Prevention Program at the Avon Senior Center. This role focuses on promoting physical activity in a fun, safe, and motivating environment for older adults.
Monitor My Health is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with a mission to provide evidence-based health promotion programs for chronic disease prevention and management in the community, and to address the social determinants of health.

We are currently seeking an individual to lead 45-minute group fitness sessions as part of our Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). The program is designed to encourage healthy lifestyle changes and increase physical activity to help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. Candidate must have their own transportation and be available to scheduled program duration (03/27/2026 – 09/25/2026, 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM).
Qualifications:
- Experience instructing fitness classes for older adults in group or community settings
- Ability to lead safe, engaging, and age-appropriate exercise sessions
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Ability to adapt exercises for varying fitness levels and mobility needs
- CPR/AED certification preferred
Duties
❏ Lead 45-minute group fitness classes for program participants for over a course of 1 year
❏ Provide guidance on proper exercise techniques and safety
❏ Incorporate a variety of age-appropriate activities such as light aerobics, strength exercises, games, yoga, or dance
❏ Create a fun, inclusive, and motivating environment that encourages participation and movement
❏ Modify exercises to accommodate different ability levels❏ Collaborate with program staff to support participant engagement and retention
❏ Prepare for each session
❏ Ensure sessions start and end on time
❏ Record weekly data for each participant
