What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Representative position at Money One Federal Credit Union?
Responsibilities:
- Interact with the general public, members, visitors, and other interested parties to provide thorough and accurate information in response to inquiries concerning Credit Union products, services, policies and procedures.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support all Credit Union activities.
- Responsible for increasing membership through the opening of new member accounts (savings and checking). Complete forms for opening and processing all types of accounts including CD, IRA, Money Markets and business accounts.
- Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of all member (non-cash) transactions including transfers, loan payments, and other negotiable instruments in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Respond to a variety of member requested transactions (via mail, telephone and walk-ins) including account maintenance, deposit verification, check orders, stop payment requests, cancelled checks, ATM cards, etc.
- Responsible for learning credit union products and services to ensure successful cross-sell to members.
- Assist and educate members with an understanding of the Credit Union’s products and services; utilize sales skills to meet individual and team goals.
- Utilize tact and experience-based knowledge to resolve member problems while maintaining positive member relations. Research, resolve and correct errors. Follow-up to ensure that members’ problems were resolved. Refer unresolved member grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
- Maintain and project the Credit Union’s professional reputation. Ensure privacy of member information.
- Backup the branch, as needed. Assume responsibility for other member support and clerical related duties as assigned.
- Maintain and update account records
- Assess member needs, explore all options, and introduce different types of loans
- Go the “extra mile” to build trust relationships, member loyalty and satisfaction throughout the customer service process
- Operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines
- Process Loan application requests forward to lending department for underwriting
Skills
- Proven working experience as a loan officer
- Familiarity with computers and banking applications/software
- Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
- Ability to work in a goal oriented environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
