The Monett R-I School District is seeking an instructional coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Monett Intermediate School. Successful applicants need to have a strong work ethic, instructional background and be willing to work within a collaborative environment.
Purpose: The Instructional Coach plays a critical role in improving student achievement and teacher growth in the Monett R-I School District. The role of the coach is to enhance teacher capacity by encouraging growth in the area of instructional effectiveness in the classroom. They promote self-reflection, provide guidance and structure when and where needed. Coaches are expected to work collaboratively as a team and with building and district administration, implement coaching cycles, and provide student interventions. They are not an evaluator of classroom teachers and not considered supervisory positions. The primary purpose is to facilitate effective teaching practices, foster collaborative learning environments, and ensure student success through personalized interventions.
Job Responsibilities and Roles:
- Support the instructional development of classroom teachers
- Model lessons and provide feedback that promotes teacher reflection and growth,
- Differentiate lessons, connecting curriculum with effective classroom instruction
- Facilitate meetings and provide assistance with pacing, planning, and data.
- Develop and facilitate whole group and grade level professional development,
- Assist in the development and implementation of curricular programs
- Assists principals and teachers with resources, materials, tools, information, etc to support classroom instruction and student learning
- Build positive relationships with teachers, administrators and other coaches
- Proactively develop a plan with building administrators to improve instruction: coaching cycles, modeling lessons, learning walks, etc.
- Provide guidance to classroom teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction and facilitate conversations as needed
- Collaborate with building administrators and facilitate/contribute to Professional Learning activities as needed
- Commit to personal growth in the area of effective classroom management, engagement, instruction and coaching
- Design and implement small group instruction sessions to address reading success plan goals.
- Develop intervention plans based on student data, assessment results, and individualized learning goals.
- Update and monitor student data, communicate with teachers and families, and track outcomes to ensure academic growth and proficiency.
Qualifications:
- Missouri teaching certification
- Minimum 5 years experience teaching in the classroom with a record of successfully impacting student achievement
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Models continual improvement, demonstrates lifelong learning and applies new learning to help all students achieve
- Experience coaching teachers preferred
Length of Contract: 9 or 9 1/2 month contract
Salary: Placement on regular teacher salary schedule
