Job Summary
The Athlete Financial Advisor will work closely with the Partner and other Advisors on the professional athlete client team to provide comprehensive financial advice to our clientele of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions. This position requires a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) or Certified Public Accountant® (CPA), designation and will work with partners to assess clients’ financial situations, develop personalized financial plans, and recommend appropriate investment strategies, insurance products, and retirement planning solutions.
The role demands strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships, as well as proficiency in financial analysis and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of financial markets and products, along with a commitment to ethical standards and continuing education to maintain their CFP® certification.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Partner to learn all aspects of the financial planning business
- Participate in client meetings to understand their financial goals, needs, and risk tolerance through comprehensive consultations and assessments
- Develop personalized financial plans and strategies that align with the clients’ goals, including investments, retirement planning, estate planning, tax and philanthropic strategies
- Recommend and manage investment portfolios based on clients’ objectives, time horizon, and risk tolerance, utilizing a range of financial resources along with the Moneta Investments Team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication, proactive advice, and ongoing financial education
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in financial advising practices, ensuring client interests are prioritized and protected
Qualifications
- Certified Financial Planner® (CFP), and/or Certified Financial Analyst® (CFA), (minimum of one required to be registered)
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 3-5 years working as a client service advisor
- Certified Public Accountant® (CPA) with tax expertise, or Juris Doctor (JD) with estate planning experience a plus
- Familiarity with general investment offerings and portfolio strategies
- A Series 65 or combination of a Series 7 and Series 66 licensing are required within 60 days of hire if a CFP or CFA designation is not previously held
