What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Software Engineer – Systematic & Discretionary Trading Technology – Hedge Fund position at Mondrian Alpha?
A well-established hedge fund is hiring software engineers to build and enhance the technology that powers its trading and investment operations. This is a broad mandate spanning multiple desks and asset classes, including equities, credit, fixed income, rates, FX, and derivatives.
Engineers here work closely with traders, portfolio managers, and quantitative researchers to design, build, and optimize systems across the full trade lifecycle, from research and signal generation through execution, risk, and post-trade. The work is hands-on and high-impact, with code that ships quickly and runs in production on systems the front office relies on every day.
What you'll work on:
- Trading systems, execution platforms, and order management infrastructure
- Real-time data pipelines, market data, and analytics
- Research tooling, backtesting frameworks, and portfolio and risk systems
What we're looking for:
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in C , C#, Python, or Java
- Experience building performant, production-grade systems
- An interest in financial markets, with buy-side experience a plus but not required
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, front-office-facing environment
We're open to engineers from a range of backgrounds, whether you're already on the buy-side, coming from a fintech or low-latency setting, or building high-performance systems elsewhere and looking to move into finance.
