What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quant Analyst / Dev – Top Buy Side Fixed Income Team position at Mondrian Alpha?
We are a technology-driven investment firm focused on applying rigorous quantitative methods to complex credit markets. Our structured products team invests across residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and related assets, combining deep fundamental understanding with advanced modeling and data infrastructure.
We are looking for a junior quantitative analyst to join our structured products risk team - someone who is intellectually curious, technically strong, and eager to develop a deep understanding of mortgage credit and structured products.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain models to analyze RMBS cash flows, prepayments, and credit performance
- Support risk monitoring across portfolios, including scenario analysis and stress testing
- Work with large, loan-level datasets to extract insights on borrower behavior and collateral performance
- Partner with senior investors and quants to evaluate new investments and relative value opportunities
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and analytics for pricing and risk management
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance)
- Strong programming skills (Python required; familiarity with SQL, C , or similar is a plus)
- Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and numerical methods
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work through complex financial structures
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced practitioners
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Exposure to fixed income, structured products, or mortgage markets
- Experience working with large datasets or building analytical models
- Familiarity with cash flow modeling or financial engineering concepts
