What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Controller (Fixed Income) position at Mondrian Alpha?
Fund Controller (Fixed Income) | Global Investment Platform
Our client is a $25bn investment platform with a strong track record across global fixed income markets. The firm has built a reputation for performance, institutional rigor, and a highly collaborative culture, supported by best-in-class infrastructure and a focus on continuous improvement.
They are looking to hire a Head of Fund Accounting to take a leading role within their fixed income business. This is a high-impact position, sitting at the center of the investment process, with responsibility for how complex portfolios are accounted for, reported, and understood across the platform.
The role offers broad exposure across a diverse fixed income book, including rates, credit products, structured instruments, and derivatives. You’ll work closely with trading desks, risk, and operations to ensure accuracy across P&L, valuations, and reporting, while also acting as a key escalation point for any accounting or reconciliation issues that arise. Alongside this, you’ll play a central role in strengthening processes, improving controls, and enhancing how data flows across the organization, with a focus on scalability and efficiency as the platform continues to grow.
While the title reflects leadership, the role is best suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, close to the detail, and actively engaged with the business rather than operating at a purely managerial level. It’s a position that requires both technical depth and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across the firm.
Who this suits
- 10 years of fund accounting experience, with strong exposure to fixed income products
- Background in a hedge fund, asset manager, or trading environment
- Strong understanding of instruments such as bonds, repos, futures, options, swaps, and structured products
- A hands-on operator who is comfortable in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Someone who can engage credibly with front office teams and senior stakeholders
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role within a well-established platform, where accounting is viewed as a critical part of the investment process rather than a downstream function. With exposure to complex strategies and the ability to influence how the function evolves, it’s a compelling next step for someone looking to operate at a senior level within fixed income.
