We’re seeking a Business Unit COO to partner closely with senior investment professionals and business leaders, ensuring the seamless running and strategic growth of our platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll blend business management, operational oversight, and project execution to deliver scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
- Drive business operations: Oversee day-to-day processes supporting portfolio management, from vendor oversight to systems and workflows, ensuring performance and resilience.
- Own vendor partnerships: Manage the full lifecycle of third-party relationships—contracts, SLAs, service reviews, and issue resolution.
- Lead transformation initiatives: Deliver high-impact projects spanning operations, compliance, treasury, and technology, ensuring initiatives are prioritized and executed to a high standard.
- Financial & strategic management: Support budgeting, cost analysis, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and business growth.
- Optimize workflows: Redesign and enhance core operational processes for better scalability, transparency, and risk management.
- Enable data-driven decisions: Develop dashboards, KPI reports, and management packs that inform leadership and investment teams.
- Partner with Portfolio Managers: Act as the go-to contact for PMs—facilitating onboarding, market data integration, and technology set-up while managing ongoing relationships.
- Stay ahead of the market: Monitor industry, regulatory, and market structure changes across fixed income and macro products, ensuring the business adapts effectively.
What we’re looking for
- Significant years’ experience in the buy-side, with exposure to Equites, macro or fixed income strategies.
- A track record of building strong relationships with Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of fixed income and macro products (rates, FX, credit, derivatives), including pricing and workflow.
- Experience with trading systems, portfolio/execution platforms, and market data infrastructure.
- Vendor management skills, from contract negotiation to performance oversight.
- Exceptional project management and process design ability, with a proven record of delivering cross-functional initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting to senior leadership.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Python or PowerBI a plus.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable handling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
