Position Overview
We are seeking a VP, Social & Audience Growth to lead and evolve our social strategy into a true engine for audience expansion.
This role sits at the intersection of campaign marketing, platform strategy, and digital distribution. You will define how content breaks through in a crowded social landscape leveraging trends, partnerships, and platform-native storytelling to drive reach beyond owned channels.
As a challenger brand, we operate with a lean, high-impact team offering the opportunity to build, innovate, and shape how social drives growth, rather than simply executing within an established machine.
What You'll Do (Day-to-Day)
- Lead social strategy across all campaigns, ensuring best-in-class execution across platforms
- Identify ways to optimize performance in real time- leveraging trends, cultural moments, and partnerships
- Rethink how social channels are structured and scaled, including consolidating and strengthening flagship brand channels
- Drive audience growth with a focus on expanding reach beyond organic social
- Oversee agencies and internal teams to ensure campaigns are executed at full force and on schedule
- Act as both a strategic leader and hands-on operator—guiding vision while staying close to execution
Key Responsibilities
Campaign & Social Leadership
- Own social strategy for campaign launches, ensuring alignment with broader marketing goals
- Translate campaign objectives into platform-native executions that drive engagement and reach
- Partner closely with internal marketing and creative teams
Audience Growth & Platform Strategy
- Develop strategies to grow audiences at scale, particularly across flagship channels
- Identify opportunities to break beyond owned media through creators, partnerships, and distribution tactics
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and translate them into actionable growth strategies
Channel & Ecosystem Optimization
- Evaluate and optimize current social channel structure (e.g., brand vs. title-specific handles)
- Drive a more cohesive and scalable approach to social presence
- Increase discoverability and sustained audience engagement
Agency & Team Leadership
- Manage 2 direct reports and oversee 2-3 external agencies
- Ensure agencies are delivering high-quality, on-strategy work across all campaigns
- Establish clear workflows, priorities, and performance expectations
Partnerships & Innovation
- Identify and activate partnerships that extend reach and cultural relevance
- Test new formats, tools, and distribution strategies to continuously improve performance
- Foster a culture of experimentation and learning
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Haves
- 10 years of experience in social, digital, or platform marketing
- Proven experience leading social for campaigns (entertainment or content-driven strongly preferred)
- Deep expertise across all major social platforms and how content performs within them
- Experience managing teams and external agencies
- Track record of driving audience growth and expanding reach beyond owned channels
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
- Background in social media for network TV / streaming brands
Preferred
- Experience in tech or digital-first companies (nice to have)
- Experience working with creators, influencers, and platform partners
