Job Description:
Our client is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for faculty, staff, and students in a fast-paced higher education environment. This role will focus on delivering excellent customer service while troubleshooting hardware, software, and end-user technology issues across both Windows and Mac platforms.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working directly with users, can remain calm under pressure, and has strong problem-solving skills. While technical knowledge is important, the team places a high value on customer service, communication, and the ability to build trust with end users.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1-1.5 technical support for faculty and staff members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues across Windows and Mac environments.
- Support faculty, staff, and students with technology-related requests and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist with software installations, printer setup, device troubleshooting, and general desktop support.
- Provide onsite support by visiting classrooms, offices, and campus locations to resolve technical issues.
- Assist with classroom technology needs and time-sensitive issues impacting instruction.
- Document and track support requests through ticketing systems.
- Collaborate with IT team members to escalate and resolve more complex technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a related technical role.
- Experience supporting both Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working fully onsite in a customer-facing support environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting higher education, healthcare, or other service-oriented environments.
- Experience supporting classroom technology or audiovisual systems.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT support processes.
