Title: Customer Service Specialist (HR & Payroll Support)
Location: Colorado Springs, CO or Owings Mills, MD (4 days onsite, remote Fridays)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (potential extension or conversion)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $25-27hr W2

We are seeking a customer-focused professional to support a high-volume HR service team responsible for assisting employees, managers, and internal stakeholders with payroll, benefits, employment verification, and general HR-related inquiries.
What You'll Do- Manage inbound support requests through phone, email, service queues, and in-person interactions.
- Triage and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, timekeeping, and HR processes.
- Apply policies, procedures, and internal resources to provide accurate and timely support.
- Escalate complex issues and partner with internal teams to ensure proper resolution.
- Perform payroll audits, timecard reviews, and data reconciliations to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Validate new hire payroll setup and assist with payroll-related case management.
- Support process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and discretion while handling sensitive employee information.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3 years of customer service, employee support, HR support, payroll support, or related experience.
- 1–2 years of payroll operations experience, including timekeeping, payroll support, employee payroll inquiries, or payroll administration.
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Experience working within regulated, compliance-focused, or policy-driven environments.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities through project ownership, shift lead responsibilities, mentoring, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience with Workday.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Background supporting HR, payroll, benefits, or employee services functions.
- Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Ability to remain composed under pressure while balancing multiple workstreams.
