What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workover Rig Supervisor (Land) position at Moncla?
Oversees supervisory and all other personnel on rig, ensuring the safety and efficiency of those personnel. Establishes exceptional communication with customer and directs the rig personnel in the completion of requested objectives.
Job Functions/Duties
- Supervises and ensures safety of rig crew and visitors as well as effective and efficient operations
- Supervises and ensures safety of rig crew and visitors as well as effective and efficient operations
- Responsible for coordinating and delivery of rig supplies, work over tools, fuel, pipe, etc.
- Ensures that Company preventive maintenance procedures are implemented and observed.
- Responsible for enforcement and clarification of Company policies and procedures
- Determines and coordinates optimum work over conditions based on experience, utilization of data from nearby or similar well and/or optimized work over programs
- Responsible for periodic scheduled rig inspections and filing of all pertinent reports
- Responsible for knowing state of repair concerning drill pipe/tubing/collars, BOP equipment, etc., in coordination with Superintendent and/or Operations Manager
- Directs crews in setting up and operating power units, draw works and other rig equipment
- Complies with all company policies, customer procedures and governmental regulations
- Assists in the maintenance and repairs of all rig equipment when required.
- Responsible for implementation and adherence to Company training/safety programs.
- Completes and submits all required reports in a timely manner
- Must be capable of recognizing and responding to emergency situations including but not limited to, wellbore influxes, hydrogen sulfide detection, and major mechanical or structural failures
- Attends all JSA meetings
- Completes company "Stop Card" every hitch.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications/Education Requirements
- 5 Years of experience as Rig Supervisor on a Land Workover Rig
- Clean background
- High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent
- Communicate in English effectively, both verbally and written
- Maintains a current Well Control Certification
- Maintains a valid Driver’s License
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic problem solving and organizational skills
- Interact positively with others on a team
- Work in a fast paced environment, handling multiple tasks at the same time
- Remaining aware of safety at all times
