Under the guidance of our Operations Supervisor or Team Lead, the Material Handlers is responsible for moving steel throughout our service center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Operate forklift and/or overhead cranes to transport material within service center in a safe and reliable manner from trucks, facility, etc.
- Receive material into computer system.
- Move product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store in appropriate area
- Maneuver material handling equipment safely and efficiently through limited space areas
- Stock and rotate materials as necessary
- Verify counts and product shipped and/or received
- Stage material for sales and production orders
- Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
Licenses/Designations and Certifications
- Licensed to operate a forklift and/or crane
