Monarch Research is actively hiring a dynamic and versatile Executive Director to join its team in Marion, IA.
The Executive Director leads Monarch Research into its next phase of growth, overseeing strategy, programs, and operations in support of monarch and pollinator conservation. As the Executive Director, you will manage a high-preforming team, steward funding and partnerships, and serve as a visible champion of the mission. This role was designed for an experienced nonprofit executive ready to lead with purpose and talent.
Monarch Research is dedicated to adding native pollinator habitat and reestablishing the monarch population in Linn County, establishing a model for the whole country.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide executive leadership for Monarch research, gilding strategy, programs, and day-to-day operations in alignment with mission and business plans
- Lead and support a high-preforming team of staff and volunteers while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture
- Partner closely with the Board of Directors on strategic planning, governance, budgeting, and organizational sustainability
- Oversee fundraising, grant development, and financial management to ensure long-term stability and growth
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Monarch Research, strengthening community relationships, partnerships, and public engagement
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7 years of leadership or executive experience in a non-profit setting
