Monarch NC, a provider of high-quality and trauma-informed care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Developmental Specialist to join our Smithfield, NC team.
The Developmental Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting people to achieve their personal dreams and goals. Staff is on 1:3 ratio (1 staff to 3 people we support). There are at least two staff members scheduled on every shift. The people we support all sleep through the night at this location, and may be non-verbal. Developmental Specialists are expected to sleep over at the location (please see schedule below).
We have 2 work schedules available. Please indicate which schedule you prefer when applying to this position.
- SCHEDULE 1 -_ WEEK 1:_ Tuesday, 5pm through Thursday, 5pm; WEEK 2: Thursday, 5pm through Sunday 5pm
- SCHEDULE 2 - Sunday, 5pm through Tuesday 5pm
Responsibilities include:
- Administer morning Medication
- Handfeed meals
- Transportation to appointments
- Cook meals
- Assist with showers and personal care
- Daily charting and documentation
- Cleaning and general upkeep of the site
- Light cleaning on certain shifts
- Deep cleaning on certain shifts
To qualify, candidates must have the following:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities or substance abuse issues.
- A valid Drivers License and auto insurance is also required.
