As a Retail Team Member, you know that a smartphone is more than a device; it’s a lifeline to work, family, and joy. The Retail Team Member takes time to learn how a customer uses their phone,streaming, gaming, video calls, or just texting the group chat, then recommends the best 5G device and wireless accessories to support their unique lifestyle.
Core Functions of the Retail Team Member
- Provide accurate guidance on AT&T flagship smartphones, mobile operating systems, and 5G device compatibility to support informed customer decisions.
- Educate shoppers on AT&T 5G hardware by translating camera performance, processor speed, battery life, and storage features into clear everyday benefits.
- Assess customer mobile usage to recommend personalized device upgrades, wireless accessories, and protection options that enhance long‑term reliability.
- Process device activations, upgrades, and trade‑in evaluations with precision while maintaining CRM accuracy and meeting AT&T documentation standards.
- Troubleshoot initial setup tasks, including data transfers, account syncing, and app restoration, to ensure a smooth and reliable out-of-the-box experience.
- Advance professional development by mastering Monarch Management’s retail playbook and progressing toward managing premium wireless customer accounts.
Education & Experience Needed for the Retail Team Member
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications is preferred for those pursuing a professional leadership track.
- Experience in retail sales, hospitality, or personalized customer service where maintaining a professional brand image was a daily requirement.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills to explain technical cellular specifications and resolve account questions with a warm, personal demeanor.
- Proficiency in digital tablets, mobile diagnostic tools, and CRM platforms to manage professional customer records and track daily performance KPIs.
