ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The list of responsibilities is not intended to be exhaustive. MONARCH Inc. reserves the right to revise this position description as needed to comply with actual job requirements.
· Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with menus established by the Licensed Dietitian.
· Report any damaged goods and/or shortages to appropriate vendor.
· Decrease waste by determining appropriate quantities of food items to cook.
· Perform daily inspections of storage areas, take, and record daily temperatures in all cold storage equipment.
· Ensure that all food handler’s permits are up to date and posted.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and maintenance in dining facilities.
· Perform all aspects of cleaning, cooking and serving techniques to meet regulatory sanitation, health and safety codes and requirements on a daily basis. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: Sweep and mop kitchen floor at the end of the work day; Clean kitchen side of sneeze guard daily; inspect squeeze bottles, keep clean and filled; Keep all kitchen cabinets clean and orderly; Wash morning pots and pans, Clean stove and ovens; Keep counters clean throughout the day; etc.
· Ensure and enforce nutritional standards for consumers based on accepted industry standards.
· Supervise consumer cleanup after meals to make sure chores are being completed in a timely manner and being done properly.
· Must be willing to cross train and teach all responsibilities within the kitchen to Kitchen staff.
· Maintains temperature log of each refrigerator and freezer in the facility.
· Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all consumers and records protected under Federal Regulation.
· Must be familiar with and adhere to ODMHSAS, CARF, and MONARCH Policy and Procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED plus one year of full time paid employment in food service or related area.
