What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver – Memory Care position at Monarch Gardens Memory Care Community?
Monarch Gardens Memory Care is looking for compassionate and dependable Caregivers to join our team. We are seeking people who are patient, attentive, and committed to helping residents feel safe, respected, and comfortable.
As a caregiver, you will assist residents with their daily needs while encouraging independence and providing meaningful companionship. Experience is appreciated, but we are willing to train applicants who have the right attitude, reliability, and heart for memory care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Provide reminders, redirection, reassurance, and emotional support
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs
- Assist with meals and hydration
- Encourage residents to participate in activities and daily routines
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition or behavior
- Document care accurately and completely
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Follow residents’ individual care plans
- Work cooperatively and communicate clearly with coworkers and managers
Qualifications
- Caregiving or memory care experience is preferred, but not required
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful
- Reliable and ready to work at the beginning of each scheduled shift
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
- Able to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and assist with resident transfers
- Willing and able to complete all required training
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Available shifts: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Location: Monarch Gardens Memory Care – Brookings, Oregon

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
