An automotive detailer is responsible for cleaning, restoring, and protecting the interior and exterior of vehicles to maintain their appearance and value.
Responsibilities:
Automotive detailers will work under the supervision of the General Sales Manager to perform thorough cleaning and restoration of vehicles, ensuring they meet company or client standards. Key duties include:
- Exterior Cleaning and Restoration - washing new and used vehicles on the sales lots
- Interior Detailing - vacuuming, shampooing carpets, steam cleaning surfaces, treating leather and vinyl, deodorizing, and applying conditioners or protective agents to make each vehicle ready for sale
- Minor Cosmetic Repairs - repairing small scratches, chips, or imperfections in the vehicle's bodywork
- Engine and Wheel Care - cleaning and degreasing engine bays, dressing plastic and rubber components, and detailing wheels and tires to remove brake dust and grime
- Inspection and Quality Control - conducting final inspections to ensure all surfaces meet established standards before client delivery
Work Environment:
This role is at a new and used car dealership. The role involves manual labor and may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
