Gallery Sales Consultant

Exciting opportunity to join Monarch Fine Art as we establish our space on Duval Street!

We've brought something new to Key West: a contemporary art gallery that doesn't apologize for having a point of view. This is an exciting time to be part of a brand new Fine Art Gallery that's already making waves on Duval.

Responsibilities:

• Drive sales through engaging client conversations and relationship building.
• Develop strong knowledge of our artists (Fabian Perez, Takashi Murakami, Tristan Eaton, Scotty Ziegler, Michael Ornstein, Karl SoCal, and more), artwork inventory, and current exhibitions. 
• Build understanding of the contemporary art industry with focus on museum-quality, pop, and street art movements.
• Qualify client needs and guide them toward pieces that match their interests and budget. 
• Follow up with potential buyers and maintain an active pipeline of prospects. 
• Process sales transactions and coordinate artwork delivery and installation. 
• Maintain organized client records and sales activity reports. 
• Assist with hanging the gallery, gallery events, exhibition openings, and special presentations. 
• Keep the gallery space welcoming, organized, and professionally presented.

Qualifications:

• Genuine passion for and knowledge of contemporary art. Passion to learn is essential; we'll provide comprehensive training on our artists, inventory, and sales approach. 
• Proven sales ability and comfort with commission-based compensation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Self-motivated with strong follow-through. 
• Professional appearance and demeanor. 
• Availability to work evenings and weekends required to capture Key West's vibrant nightlife. 
• Previous art gallery, retail, or sales experience preferred. 
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in high-end retail sales or luxury goods.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Compensation:

Hourly vs. Commission Sales, whichever is higher.

Hourly Rate: $16-$22 based on experience.
