Automotive Parts Manager – Monarch Defender
Location: Grayslake, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM
Compensation: $30–$40/hr (based on experience)
Monarch Defender builds bespoke, one-of-a-kind Land Rover Defenders. We are expanding our Grayslake shop and looking for an experienced Automotive Parts Manager to set up and run our parts department from the ground up.
This is a key role in our operation—you’ll work directly with technicians and leadership to keep high-end custom builds on schedule.
What You’ll Do- Build and organize a complete parts department from scratch
- Manage ordering, receiving, labeling, and stocking of all parts
- Track parts used by technicians and maintain accurate logs
- Communicate with techs to understand parts needs for custom builds
- Coordinate returns, core tracking, vendor relationships, and deliveries
- Support production workflow and ensure parts availability ahead of jobs
- Help develop and improve internal processes as the shop grows
- Proven experience in automotive parts management
- Strong organizational communication skills
- Ability to track parts usage and keep accurate records
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, custom-build environment
- Knowledge of Land Rovers, GM drivetrains, or custom 4x4s a plus, not required
- Self-starter who can build systems and processes from the ground up
- Be part of a premium, fast-growing Defender build shop
- Have full ownership of building the parts department
