What are the responsibilities and job description for the APP (NP/PA) - Emergency Medicine position at MONADNOCK REGION EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS PLLC?
Monadnock Community Hospital Emergency Department is seeking a part-time/perdiem midlevel provider, either an experienced PA or APRN, with an anticipated 3-4 shifts per month, 12 hours per shift (10 AM to 10 PM) starting as early as August. This is a rural critical access hospital in the Monadnock region with a census of 13,500 and you will work side-by-side with single physician coverage. ED is staffed by Monadnock Region Emergency physicians (MREP), a group dedicated to this single hospital and democratically run.
This is a congenial environment with variable patient flow, which allows for keeping a steady pace; generally time to sit with patients and work through cases with care, but sometimes requiring shifting to higher gears for a few hours. Physicians are very supportive and happy to staff any case needed. APP's do not need to close cases once started; unfinished cases are signed over to the nighttime doc.
Patients skew towards elderly; community is generally friendly and civil. We emphasize patient care over length of stay. Critical access rural status means some big holes in resource availability, but do reasonably well, have full-time hospitalists, general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN. Have cardiology and GI by weekday. Lab and radiology services are the best imaginable. Ultrasound 7 days/week. MRI 5 days/week. Admission rate 10% of all patients. Transferring patients can be a challenge and a frustration – finding an accepting hospital, finding transport -but transfer rate is down to 3.5% of all patients.
Our ML BASE RATE is $90/hour, and holiday $135/hour.
