What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Residential Staff position at Monadnock Peer Support?
Monadnock Peer Support is seeking to fill a per diem role to support our Peer Respite and SUSD programs. The nature of the position is as needed and will consist of mostly overnight hours. ROLE:
To deliver Peer Support in a residential setting in accordance with the structure and systems of the residential Step-Up, Step-Down & Peer Respite programs, with the intention of fostering a communal space for healing and growth. This position reports to and is evaluated by the Program Director and/or the Director of Mission Impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Residential Support
- Welcome guests and visitors to the Step-Up Step-Down and Peer Respite programs, as needed
- Utilize the language and skills of Peer Support, and will work alongside their team to offer Peer Support to guests in the Step-Up Step-Down/Peer Respite program
- Support guests with their intake process, as directed by the Director of Mission Impact or the Program Director
- Support Peer Support program utilization and related activities and groups that support the needs and preferences of the guests in the Step-Up Step-Down and Peer Respite programs
- Engage in one-on-one Peer Support with guests in the Step-Up Step-Down and Peer Respite programs during their shift
- Sanitize resident rooms upon move-out and/or preparing rooms for move-in of a resident as needed and/or directed by the Director of Mission Impact or Program Director
- Maintain the confidentiality of guests and members of Monadnock Peer Support
- Provide the Director of Mission Impact or Program Director with copies of paperwork related to any and all issues of conflict, complaint or incident
- Write and review detailed log notes for each resident throughout their shift
- Support the cleanliness of the program through program/facility maintenance tasks assigned by the Director of Mission Impact or the Program Director by utilizing the language and skills of Peer Support to guide guests in doing their part
- Support a healthy atmosphere by holding appropriate boundaries with guests in compliance with the policies and procedures of Monadnock Peer Support
- Maintain a working knowledge of guest and visitor movements in and out of the program
- Other Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality at all times per the Employee Manual
- Maintain knowledge of area resources and provide them to residents, guests and members as needed
- Attend appropriate meetings and trainings as directed and required
- Handle conflict, complaint, and incidents using the principles of peer support
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Complete incident reports in a timely manner and submit them to Program Director and/or Director of Mission Impact
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Monadnock Peer Support and support a positive image of the organization in all settings
- Serve as an ambassador of the organization to other community groups
- Participate in a quarterly co-reflection with supervisor and receive a yearly review based on your hire date
- Communicate regularly with supervisor
- Other duties as asked or required by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field and/or lived experience preferred
- Peer support training preferred
- Knowledge of area community resources
- Experience with Microsoft Suite and some computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good reporting and technical skills.
- Valid Driver’s License
