Salary: 20-25ROLE:The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for completing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that mainly focus on the finances of the organization. This role works closely with the accountant and may receive work and direction from the Executive Director and the Administrative Director.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide general administrative and clerical supportResponsible for essential tasks relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as directed by the Executive Director and in accordance with MPSs accounting policies and proceduresAttend Finance Committee meetings and full Board meetings as assigned; take meeting minutes, as neededMaintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions.Make bank deposits as neededMaintain, reconcile, and report on the petty cash fundNotify senior staff of any accounting errorsAssist Executive Director and Administrative Director, as neededMaintain staff meeting minutesAssist colleagues with technology issues as necessaryOrder office supplies, printer toner and paper, maintenance supplies, and office technologies according to existing purchasing procedures as neededRepresent MPS at community meetings and/or events as assignedAttend appropriate meetings and trainings as directed and requiredMaintain strict confidentiality of informationMaintain safe and clean work areasManage Member Suggestion BoxOther job functions as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director that are not specifically described in this job descriptionQUALIFICATIONS:Possess a minimum of Associates degree from an accredited Institution of Higher Learning or its equivalent in relevant experience 2 years of work in the field equals 2 years of educationExcellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft SuitePrevious experience with accounting software like Quickbooks and possess bookkeeping skillsAbility to take accurate meeting minutesFamiliarity with filing systems, and ability to file documents in their appropriate physical and electronic locationsEffective oral and written communication skillsPossesses knowledge, understanding, experience, and sensitivity to the issues facing individuals with mental health challengesAbility to model and practice peer support or willingness to receive trainingAbility to handle conflict, uncomfortable situations, and confidentiality with professionalismAbility to take initiative, be creative, flexible, and work independently and with a teamPREFERRED SKILLS:Three (3) years of personal and/or professional experience working in a clearly related field, such as mental healthcare, residential care, substance recovery facilitation, community aid, etc.Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) training, and Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) training, or other peer support trainingADDITIONAL NOTES:At Monadnock Peer Support, every staff member brings personal experience with mental health, and that shapes the support given to other peers.
