Position Description: This professional provides leadership, input and coordination to support the families and care teams that serve people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities. The Service Coordinator assists in meeting individual needs in many areas, including health, education, employment, behavior support, mental health, housing, benefits and negotiating the legal system.
Education and Experience: Four-year degree in a human services and related experience working with people with developmental disabilities are required. Extensive experience working with people with developmental disabilities may be substituted for educational requirements.
Training and Professional Development: Because M&A began as a staff-training organization, we consider training and professional development to be essential for all members of the organization. Service Coordinators receive initial training as well as on-going professional development training throughout their careers and are encouraged to grow in the profession.
Work Environment: Monaco & Associates provides a supportive team environment, where an individual Service Coordinator can rely on assistance and backup from their co-workers and supervisors.
Qualifications: A valid drivers license and dependable transportation are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, managing multiple demands, facilitation and advocacy for people on an assigned caseload are preferred.
