Radiology Extern -- RADIOLOGY -- Davis Medical Center

As a Radiology Extern you will help assist the Imaging Services staff with various duties to ensure a quality experience for patients.

• Observation in all diagnostic areas without performing medical imaging on patients. Will apply the principles of radiation protection to minimize personal exposure. This includes refraining from operating equipment, positioning patients, or initiating image acquisition.

• Escort the patient to and from the procedure room and assists as needed with patient arrival and departure from the department.

• Provides direct patient care by assisting with gowning and other basic physical care to promote comfort.

• Answers all phone calls in a timely and courteous manner, always identifying self and unit.

• Participate in coordination of daily workflow of department.

• Clean the exams rooms between patient exams.

• Assist with the transportation of patients to and from care units and outpatient waiting room.

• Assist with patient transfer to and from beds and wheelchairs, assist with boosting and/or rolling patients in bed if needed.

• Assist with EMR and PACS duties

• Assist with departmental stocking

Medium to Heavy Work: Requires exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and more than 20 lbs. of force continually.
