Job Summary
Provide an ongoing objective evaluation of the important aspects of patient care through daily review of patient charts. Identify variations in care to provide data for use in the correction of potential problems and to meet the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Translate clinical documentation into data elements.
- Gather and analyze clinical information.
- Identify trends, variances, deficiencies and problems.
- Identify deficiencies in documentation based on QOPI modules. Report deficiencies and outcomes to physicians, ASCD and the Department Director.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
Competency Statement

Education
Associate's Degree
Experience: 5 years office management
Substitution: 8 years of physician or office management may substitute for the Associates Degree.
Direct experience and office management skills demonstrated in the department the position is vacant can also be substituted for the Associates degree and experience.
