What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Sterile Processing position at Mon Health?
The Manager of Sterile Processing is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing Department. Manages the daily department activities, provides clinical and administrative support to the Sterile Processing Staff. Assures that all necessary supplies are provided to surgical units to facilitate proper patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Sterile Processing Technician – High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Sterile Processing Technician - three years in a sterile processing area or operating room required. Thorough working knowledge of DNV and OSHA guidelines and AAIMI standards, knowledge of personnel practices and demonstrated ability in the supervision of staff normally acquired through previous supervisory experience are preferred. Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to provide leadership to employees and maintain cooperative working relationships with physicians.
RN - minimum of three years previous surgical services experience. Prefer previous experience in a leadership/management position, preferably in a large acute care setting with high volume of cases performed each day. Must demonstrate expert knowledge in surgical supply processing and supply management. Must have excellent communication skills; highly organized with ability to set priorities and adjust as needed based on daily demands. Ability to work with all levels of care providers. Must be self-directed and self-motivated with strong customer service skills.
Licensure/Certification:
Sterile Processing Technician - Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification or surgical technician required. Certification in Central Service Healthcare Leadership through IAHCSMM required within one year of employment.
