Inventory Control Analyst - Surgery -- OPERATING ROOM -- Mon Medical Center Main Campus

Job Summary

Develops, implements, and maintains supply acquisition processes, storage solutions, and inventory management systems for supplies, special orders, and equipment necessary to support patient care in the operating room in coordination with the Mon Health purchasing department, outside vendors and representatives, and Surgical Services personnel including managers, directors, sterile processing, schedulers, and OR staff.

Develops inventory management and logistics systems to address supply needs Utilizes data to assign par levels and min/max levels based on historical use Evaluates upcoming needs based on the surgery schedule Monitors for recalls and potential defects via manufacturers and vendors Develops and maintains systems which assure the accuracy of perpetual inventory counts Develops and maintains reorder management systems with restock notifications Reduce unnecessary cost by maintaining appropriate levels of inventory Develops systems for monitoring inventory expiration dates with Develops materials cost and inventory reduction programs and provides data to measure progress towards cost reduction targets Conducts the year-end physical inventory and other periodic inventory counts as necessary Assures that the daily operational needs for supplies and equipment are met Completes purchase order processing in a timely manner through appropriate channels Coordinates with purchasing, vendors, and hospital staff to make purchasing decisions for special situations (back orders, urgent/emergent needs, unusual item or equipment requirements, etc.) Coordinates special deliveries from vendors or borrowing from other hospitals for items which are in short supply for any reason (back orders, usage spikes, unique needs, etc.) Serves as a key staff member and resource to the Director of Surgical Services Assists the director in developing and monitoring budget areas as assigned Provides input on procurement planning Maintains proficiency in the use of database systems Maintains necessary accounting knowledge and coordinates with finance to assure that all necessary financial matters handled appropriately (perpetual inventory reconciliation, manual billings, accounts receivable processing, etc.) Assists in training other personnel with respect to inventory management functions Serves on Value Analysis Committee, Product Review Committee, and other committees as deemed appropriate by administration or the Director of Surgical Services Stays abreast of new technology and practices in the area of inventory/supply management and introduces concepts which may benefit the hospital Maintains professional growth through continuing education Maintains knowledge and understanding of sterility requirements and quality control Completes all educational requirements in a timely manner Works professionally with others on the surgical serv.

Two years of supply chain experience in a healthcare environment. Four years of Supply Chain experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
