Position Summary:
To provide clinical care for the vast array of patients served by Heart and Vascular Services. Location for services is at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital located in Weston, WV.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her given specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff office. The NP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The NP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The NP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
The NP shall work under the supervision of a physician.

Minimum Education Requirement : A graduate of a masters prepared Nurse Practitioner program. Certified by either the ANCC or AANP board.
Minimum Experience Requirement : Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with physicians, and instruct patients and their families. Strong cardiology and EP experience preferred.
Minimum License Requirement : Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Must possess BLS within probationary period. Must possess current ACLS certification or acquire within one year of employment start, which is renewed every two years. Must be credentialed according to the Medical Staff bylaws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Certified by either the ANCC or AANP board.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy Work; Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
