Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a General Manager, located in Dallas, TX. The General Manager will lead day-to-day operations of MoMoney’s Dallas museum to deliver outstanding guest experiences, a safe and compliant environment, and disciplined financial performance. The GM builds a high-performing front-of-house team, owns core site P&L levers, and partners with the CEO, internal team, and external agencies to grow the museum.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Own daily open/close, queue and capacity management, ticket scanning accuracy, service recovery, and cleanliness standards.
- Manage ticketing/POS systems and basic CRM workflows; ensure accurate reporting.
- Oversee retail operations (merchandising standards, inventory counts, shrink control, retail $/cap).
- Lead group sales operations, school trip logistics (waiver/terms compliance), and coordination of after-hours private events.
- Oversee facilities operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate facilities/vendors; act as point of contact for service tickets.
- Support the marketing calendar (promotions, events) with accurate hours, inventory, and staffing.
Financial & Administrative
- Own site P&L within controllable lines and deliver on monthly budget.
- Build and maintain staffing plans and posted schedules.
- Develop, manage and implement policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records including but not limited to timekeeping, incident logs/OSHA, training sign-offs, CCTV access logs.
Safety, Compliance & Security
- Serve as Safety Officer: maintain the Emergency Action Plan; coordinate drills; manage incident reporting and insurer notifications.
- Maintain OSHA log entries as applicable; escalate reportable events.
- Oversee CCTV access protocol; conduct incident reviews; protect guest/staff privacy.
- Coordinate post-offer background screening for new hires.
- Enforce MoMoney policies and ensure respectful ADA/service-animal etiquette.
People Leadership & Training
- Recruit, hire, and onboard staff; set expectations; model professional appearance and communication.
- Deliver and/or coordinate staff training.
- Coach and develop Assistant Managers.
- Maintain a positive culture consistent with MoMoney’s values.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in museums, attractions, entertainment, hospitality, or retail; 1 to 2 years as GM/AGM preferred.
- Education: Hospitality, business administration, arts management, or related training/education preferred; equivalent experience considered. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Systems: Familiarity with ticketing/POS systems, basic CRM/email tools, and MS/Google productivity suites.
- Skills: Team leadership, guest service, clear written/verbal communication, scheduling/labor planning, budget management, facility management, vendor management, incident response, event planning and project management.
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Frequently stand/walk for extended periods; operate radios; perform facility walkthroughs.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled; flexible to meet operational needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base: $72,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
