Job Overview
The Associate Store Manager supports daily store operations, leads staff during scheduled shifts, and serves as the primary backup to the Operations Manager. This position includes participation in an on‑call rotation to ensure smooth operations and timely response to urgent issues during regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily store operations including opening/closing, merchandising, inventory control, and cash management.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Support hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of store staff.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues with professionalism.
- Act as manager‑on‑duty when the Store Manager is off‑site or unavailable.
On‑Call Duties
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- Respond promptly to urgent operational issues such as staffing shortages, equipment failures, or security concerns.
- Provide remote guidance or come on‑site when necessary to maintain safe and continuous operations.
- Document incidents and communicate follow‑up actions to management.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of retail, grocery, or food service leadership experience.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to stay calm and effective during unexpected situations.
- Reliable transportation for on‑call response.
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Schedule & Compensation
