Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Assistant Teacher to support the development and well-being of young children in a nurturing educational environment. This role involves supporting lead teachers in all aspects of the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, experience working with children, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and behavior management strategies.
- Help prepare classroom materials, organize learning centers, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
- Supervise children actively during indoor, outdoor, and transition times, always ensuring adherence to ratio and safety standards.
- Assist with personal care routines including feeding, diapering/toileting, and nap time supervision.
- Step into the Lead Teacher role for short periods (ex. during lunch breaks).
- Quality Assessment: Manage and analyze child assessment data to identify program strengths and areas needing improvement.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management techniques, and curriculum development.
- Experience working with children with autism or disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to assist in lesson planning focused on literacy education, math skills, behavior management, and overall child development.
- Certification in childcare or early childhood education is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant coursework or training will be considered.
