The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of MMG’s production and facility equipment. This role performs a wide range of multi-craft maintenance activities, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems. By applying predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance practices, the Maintenance Technician helps maximize equipment uptime, improve operational performance, and support MMG’s commitment to exceptional quality, service, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
- Respond to emergency and unscheduled equipment breakdowns during production hours; complete scheduled maintenance during planned service windows.
- Apply mechanical skills including work with gears, motors, bearings, belts, pulleys, lubrication systems, and other rotating or mechanical components.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, cylinders, regulators, valves, and air systems.
- Perform lubrication tasks such as grease application, oil changes, contamination control, and inspection of lube systems.
- Complete basic electrical troubleshooting on sensors, switches, motors, and control circuits within defined safety guidelines.
- Use PLC logic and ladder diagrams to trace faults and support troubleshooting of control related issues (advanced PLC programming not required).
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and work orders.
- Identify root causes, repair or replace components, test equipment, and verify proper operation.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities in alignment with established schedules.
- Occasionally perform basic plumbing and carpentry tasks.
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, meters, and material handling equipment.
- Identify and report abnormal conditions, faulty operations, or defective materials to appropriate supervision.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety regulations, ISO standards, and company policies.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Work extended hours or overtime when required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands on experience with mechanical systems.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, CMMS use, and communication.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities as needed.
- Self motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Good communication skills and a detail oriented approach to work.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to work overtime or extended hours when necessary.
Preferred
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints or schematics.
- Basic math and trigonometry skills.
- Understanding of machine tool geometry and appropriate tool selection for various materials.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including familiarity with circuits and control devices.
- Comfortable working at height or on ladders.
- Familiarity with ISO concepts and documentation requirements.
Pay: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
