About the Role:
As a Milling Operator in the durable goods manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in the production process by operating and maintaining milling machines to shape and finish metal or other materials according to precise specifications. Your work will directly impact the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing output, ensuring that components meet stringent standards for durability and accuracy. You will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to set up machines correctly and make necessary adjustments during operation. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent defects and maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to the seamless production of high-quality durable goods that meet customer and company expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating milling machines or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology.
- Experience with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) milling machines.
- Familiarity with durable goods manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operation.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and best practices in manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate milling machines to cut, shape, and finish materials based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make timely adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of milling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to quality standards.
- Collaborate with production team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine settings, and maintenance performed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand and follow all ISO procedures.
