Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has a total of six steps, Step 1 (entry level) through Step 6 (15 years of employment with the organization). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one-year anniversary. The current Step 1 rate for this position is $37.45/hr, and the current Step 6 rate for this position is $41.34/hr.

We offer a competitive package of employee benefits for 30 to 40-hour week positions. You will receive a defined contribution amount of up to $15,433.08 per year (prorated for part-time employees working less than 40 hours per week) to purchase the benefits of your choice on a cafeteria plan basis. Any amount of this defined contribution not used towards your benefits will be paid to you as taxable earnings. We offer a retirement plan with a generous employer match starting at 4% after one year of employment. Our paid time off is also more generous than many employers with vacation time accruing up to 25 days per year, 6 days of sick time per year and 12 paid holidays.

The benefits offered in our cafeteria plan are as follows:

  • Medical benefits –Kaiser--ranging from $0 Deductible Plan with $15 Copay to $,3400 Deductible Plan with Health Savings Account. Sutter Health plans are also available from $0 Deductible Plan to $2,500 Deductible Plan.
  • Dental benefits –Guardian: 1 dental HMO and 2 PPOs
  • Vision benefits – 2 options from Guardian VSP: a standard vision plan and an enhanced vision plan

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain client files and ensure that all client assessments, treatment plans, daily progress notes, discharge plans and other documents are entered into the Electronic Health Record of each client in accordance with current state and county regulations, DHCS requirements, and Drug Medi-Cal compliance.*
  • Facilitate process-oriented, Psycho-Educational and patient education using a combination of methods such as teaching, counseling, writing assignments and other techniques to develop clients’ knowledge and understanding of the impact of substance use. Progress note each group note according to individualize treatment plan using PIRP note format.*
  • Case Management: Conduct case conferences, collaborate with other professionals inside and outside of our agency, and be visible and flexible within the work environment.*
  • Conduct individual AOD counseling sessions with clients to monitor progress toward treatment plan goals and program participation, once a week per client.
  • Comply with state, county and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to client confidentiality (HIPAA and 42 CFR part 2), consents, incident reporting, and Child Protective Services reporting.*
  • Participate in county and state trainings to learn about updates and changes in regulations and requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: (E = Essential; D = Desired)

  • CADC II/III, or LAADC certification. All certifications and/or licenses must be kept current. (E)
  • 2 years’ experience with substance abuse treatment and prevention programs. (D)
  • Prior experience working with mothers. (D)
  • Demonstrated skills in counseling. (E)
  • Good verbal and written English language skills. (E)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). (D)
  • Adequate cultural awareness to effectively serve a diverse client population. (D)
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other professionals in an intensive, fast-paced, and hands-on environment. (E)
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the disease concept of alcohol and other drug addiction. (E)
  • Knowledge of federal, state and county guidelines regarding residential treatment and recovery programs. (E)
  • Experience with Drug Medi-Cal. (D)
  • Experience using common computer software programs including MS Office. (E)
  • Experience with Welligent and UNI/CARE. (D)
  • Knowledge of 12-step recovery program. (D)
  • Must pass and maintain necessary clearances and drug screening. (E)
  • A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle/for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to sit, stand and walk up and down a small hill. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Primary work is performed in an office environment in a residential setting. Requires regular interaction with clients and their children.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

Local travel to trainings, meetings and other cooperative programs may be required. Employees must have reliable transportation available to attend off-site meetings and conferences.
