Floating Maintenance Technician

About the Role:

The Floating Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity and safety of floating structures and equipment. This position involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and urgent repairs on various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems aboard floating platforms or vessels. The technician will work in dynamic environments, often offshore or on water-based installations, requiring adaptability and strong problem-solving skills. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or marine maintenance preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance roles, preferably in marine, offshore, or industrial settings.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints related to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including offshore or floating platforms.
• Valid certifications relevant to safety and maintenance, such as OSHA or equivalent, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and pneumatic controls on floating or marine equipment.
• Certifications in marine safety, first aid, or offshore survival training (e.g., BOSIET).
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong welding or fabrication skills applicable to maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on floating platforms or vessels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, performing repairs promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to plan and execute maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations while working in offshore or water-based environments.
