The Role: Head of People & Culture
The Head of People & Culture will be at the forefront of shaping our company culture and supporting our diverse team of talented individuals as we grow and scale. As the HR leader for our organization, you will play a pivotal role in attracting and onboarding top talent to the organization, driving employee engagement and championing our values, all while ensuring a best-in-class employee experience for our team members.
Based out of our Cambridge, MA office, your primary responsibilities will include partnering with the leadership team to drive talent strategies, recruiting top talent to the company, onboarding them and ensuring a seamless integration into the team, managing our enterprise HR software including Workday and Greenhouse, plus leading employee events and culture initiatives. This position reports into Momentum Commerce's CEO & Founder, John T. Shea.

Who We Look For – The Ideal Profile:
- Superior emotional intelligence, deep integrity and a consistent track record of taking ownership and bridging organizational say-do gaps.
- Bachelor's degree from a top university
- 7 years of broad HR experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Broad foundational HR knowledge with experience across talent acquisition, talent management, HR operations, benefits, compensation and compliance
- Experience developing new policies and programs that meet both deliver against business needs while improving employee experience
- Proven ability to partner with leadership to drive talent strategies that deliver real business impact
- Collaborative team player who can partner effectively with team members of all levels and backgrounds
- Strong analytical capabilities; Excel mastery is required
- Working knowledge of relevant policies and regulations as they relate to employment law (FMLA, ADA, etc.)
- Experience working in the Professional Services or Technology industries a plus
- Experience with the Workday HRM and Greenhouse ATS platforms preferred
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
- Partner with company leadership to develop and implement a strategic HR roadmap that supports and drives key business objectives
- Balance strategic and operational responsibilities to establish the department as a high-impact HR-team-of-one, with a view to building out a team as the company grows and evolves
- Collaborate with HR teams from our other Momentum portfolio companies, as well as talent leaders at the parent company, leveraging collective knowledge, best practices and process
- Be a culture champion for the company, leading by example and ensuring all employees live out the company values
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee morale, satisfaction, and retention, including organizing company events and culture initiatives
- Act as the front-line support and answer employee requests and questions in various HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, policies and resolve any issues that may arise in a timely manner; tapping into the larger HR resources at Momentum where needed
- Lead recruiting efforts for the company including drafting job descriptions, screening resumes, conducting and scheduling interviews, as well as crafting offers
- Support the performance management process by assisting in goal setting, performance evaluations, and development planning.
- Provide coaching and feedback to managers and employees to foster continuous growth and development
- Provide administrative leadership for the full employee life cycle - from onboarding through to offboarding - ensuring processes are clearly defined, followed and that data is appropriately collected within Workday
- Other ad-hoc duties as required, as they relate to Human Resources
- Full-time position open to candidates in the United States
- Position is hybrid out of our Cambridge, MA, office (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
- Total Compensation Range: $170,000 - $220,000 USD annually DOE
